Alma Garcia is an associate at Law Offices of David A. Breston. Ms. Garcia attended the University of Houston where she received her Bachelor of Science degree. Ms. Garcia then obtained employment with Harris County Community Supervision and Corrections Department as a Community Supervision Officer (formerly known as Probation Officer). She excelled in her position and was transferred to a specialized caseload in which she closely supervised maximum risk offenders. In pursuing her dreams of becoming a criminal attorney in Houston, she applied and was accepted into South Texas College of Law. Ms. Garcia excelled in law school. She was given high passes in Voir Dire and Jury Communication and Criminal Law Trial Advocacy.
Ms. Garcia was an active participant in the school’s Mock Trial and Moot Court classes. During law school, Ms. Garcia completed two judicial internships in the 183rd and 184th District Courts with Honorable Judges Velasquez and Krocker. During her judicial internship, she gained valuable insight into the prosecutorial process and assisted in researching court opinions for current cases. During her last semester in law school, Ms. Garcia obtained a position as a law clerk with Martin L. Mayo & Associates. Before accepting a position with the Law Office of David A. Breston, Ms. Garcia practiced civil law as an Associate with Martin L. Mayo & Associates.
Ms. Garcia is a native Houstonian. Her parents immigrated to the United States in 1981 from Mexico, and she is a fluent Spanish speaker. She has long aspired to represent people who deserve to have knowledgeable, thorough, and zealous representation.
